ASU’s School of Social Work, in the College of Public Programs, boasts a rich and diverse learning environment with nearly half of the undergraduate social work students and one-third of graduate social work students being from minority groups. The school has one of the three highest numbers of American Indian social work students in the United States. A coalition of Arizona community-based health and human service providers has teamed with Arizona State University to advance efforts to increase the flow of culturally competentnt professional social workers into Arizona’s behavioral health network.

The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law received the national Diversity Matters Award from the Law School Admission Council for its commitment to diversity and for demonstrating that commitment through programs for underrepresented students in high school and college. The award is made each year to schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity by designing programming for high school and college students from racial and ethnic groups that are underrepresented in law schools and the legal profession.
