Innovative technology improves student success

Arizona State University is emerging as a national leader for its innovative use of technology in the classroom. National news sources such as the New York Times, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and Inside High Ed have lauded ASU for creating student-centric, technology-based tools for things such as class registration, online courses and grade monitoring. eAdvisor, a set of applications and processes that delivers information about students’ progress through their academic programs and assists them in making decisions critical to their success, was highly praised. ASU’s use of technology in its adaptive math classes also is being recognized as path breaking for its impact on student pass rates. Both are examples of solutions the university has developed to improve retention and graduation of its students.
