Revolutionizing the wheelchair

Vantage Realized, a student-led startup, was named a top five finalist in Entrepreneur Magazine’s College Entrepreneur of the Year competition. Through its first product, the Mechaddy, Vantage Realized will improve mobility for manual wheelchair users by helping to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome and joint damage. Company co-founders are Gordon Freirich, mechanical engineering graduate, JJ Tang, a finance graduate, and Nick Gough, an industrial design major. Other members are graduates Ami Bui, marketing; Teddy Lewis, visual communication design; Colin Ho, mechanical engineering; Kris Guiang, biomedical engineering; and graduate student Wade Gyllenhaal, mechanical engineering. Vantage Realized was developed through the Edson Student Entrepreneur Initiative.
