The future of Sun Devil Stadium
The university announced the early stages of a renovation project set to revitalize Sun Devil Stadium over the next couple of years. The first step is the removal of the north end zone, set to begin in February 2014, which will reduce the capacity of the stadium to approximately 63,000 seats and provide additional flexibility for future planning. Revitalizing Sun Devil Stadium will further the development of the Athletics District and also create a more intimate atmosphere that will enhance the game day experience for fans as seating will be improved, an updated state-of-the-art video board will be installed, escalators and elevators will be added and new restrooms and concessions will be built, among other upgrades.
