Seventeen Sun Devils achieve Olympian status
Sun Devils excelled at the 2012 London Olympics. With 17 current and former student-athletes in competition at the London Olympics, Arizona State University had the 13th highest total of Olympians of any Division I school in the country. Thanks to James Harden on the USA men’s basketball team and Amy LePeilbet on the USA women’s soccer team, ASU brought home two gold medals for the first time since 2000 and brought the institution’s all-time total of gold medals won by alumni and current students to 25.
