Journalism students set national standard

Students in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication finished first in broadcast news and fifth in the print category in this year’s prestigious Hearst Journalism Awards program, often referred to as the Pulitzer Prizes of college journalism. Arizona State University students also won more awards than any other school at the Broadcast Education Association’s Festival of Media Arts competition for the fourth consecutive year.

“The breadth and depth of the school’s success speaks to the strength of our overall program. It’s not just about one class or a couple of students. This success is a result of the quality of our faculty, students and staff — from freshmen introductory classes to our capstone programs.” -- Mark Lodato, assistant dean and news director at the Cronkite School.
