Student start-ups most promising ventures
The 20 student ventures in the received numerous accolades this year: top prize in the first-ever Arizona Student Startup Demo Day, a spot in the final round of Inc. Magazine’s 2013 Coolest College Startups competition and Microsoft’s Imagine Cup Grant Program, as well as being named one of the 50 most promising ventures in the Startup Open competition during Global Entrepreneurship week.
The Edson Student Entrepreneur Initiative gives student entrepreneurs the opportunity and support to develop their innovative ideas and launch viable businesses. The program was seeded by an investment of $5.4 million from Orin Edson, who started a small company out of his garage that he eventually built into Bayliner Marine Corp.
